Not Fair

My Sister's Keeper: Not Fair

This wasn't really expected at all. I never really even thought that the book would end the way it did. Kate didn't get what she originally wanted but she didn't need to. She lived. Her mother got to see her go to prom like she thought that she never would. She would be able to see her get married, and have a possible child. She would get to watch her grow up and be happy and have the life that she thought that she'd never have. She'd have everything that she wanted, but now Anna wouldn't. The situation is now reversed but Anna has no chance of coming back to life. She doesn't have the chance of being saved like Kate did. There will never be a chance for her family to watch her go to prom. She'll never get married, she'll never have a child, she'll be stuck at thirteen forever. What life did she really get to live? She never had a chance to be free and do what she wanted. All she had her whole life was the life of being spare parts for her sister. She had only just gained the rights to her body but she'd never actually be able to have control. Her whole life she lived partially in the hospital. Her sister got a chance to leave. All this time her parents had showed Kate so much attention, more then anyone else in the family, and now they'd never have a chance to make it up to Anna, because she was dead. They couldn't fix her like they fixed Kate. In the end, she does live on. There will always be a part of her in Kate. She is the blood in Kate's veins, and the organ keeping her alive. There are still parts of her left on the earth. The truth though still is that you can't give your love and attention to a corpse. She's still dead and nothing will change that fact. Her parents wasted her life.
